Quantum Ninja
A downloadable game for Windows
Like the classic game of fruit ninja, but with a quantum twist! Some elements are entangled, some elements are... unstable! Be careful of splitting the atom, you may find something unexpected. Some photons will undergo tunneling, so start to get those quantum brains a turnin'.
The Quantum Part - Quantum Fruit Ninja demonstrates two different quantum physics concepts, entanglement and tunnelling.
Entanglement
Small photons have a chance to become entangled. It is known they become entangled if when cut they split into two different photons.
Once two photons become entangled, slicing one slices the other. This is similar to how entanglement works in quantum physics, where two particles who are entangled share intrinsic traits like spin.
Tunnelling
Tiny quarks also have a chance to tunnel. If a quark tunnels, it passes through the blade and teleports somewhere else, something it can't usually do.
About the development of the game
Fruit Ninja is originally a mobile game developed by Halfbrick Studios that released in April 2010 on the iOS App Store. Much of the source code for the base Fruit Ninja game came from Youtuber Zigorous: https://www.youtube.com/@Zigurous. Many assets came from his open source build that can be found here: https://github.com/zigurous/unity-fruit-ninja-tutorial
The rest of the code for the re-design, quantum properties, volume additions, and life counters came from our team (Anay Mahamuni, Solomon Dwaydar, and Arixen Maurananthan). No generative AI was used in the making of this game. Thank you to Ethan Bloom for creating the extra 3D models in Blender.
If you have any issues accessing the files, they have been backed up on Github as well: https://github.com/WalterSimper10/Quantum-Fruit-Ninja

Install instructions
Original - Once you have downloaded the Quantum Ninja 1.0 file from this page, simply unzip the file and click on the Quantum Ninja v1.0 application file. The game should run in fullscreen mode.
Update - The file folder for the v1.0 version of the game requires a small change to be made. Once the file folder is unzipped, replace "My Project_Data" with Quantum Ninja v1.0_Data.
Alternatively, we have uploaded an updated file folder with the corrected name here. We have left the original file folder as well. The v1.01 version of the game should be immediately executable once unzipped.
